Framing Basement Walls: How To

In framing basement walls there is the easiest way to do as a matter of fact. This thing is one step in ensuring that your basement is very much usable at the highest level of safety while also supporting the entire building at the same time. It is recommended to use construction grade lumber for basement wall framing so that the support will be at its best level while you will still have rooms for insulating matters and also wires.

Basement Wall Framing Steps

The easiest method in doing the framing basement walls project is to actually build the frame section on the floor first then raise each one of the section up to its place on the wall. Measuring the height of the needed frame is important to be done first. Be sure to measure the height from the floor to the spot right at the bottom of the joists. Be sure to leave a bit of space to have a kind of floating basement wall frame while also remembering that the plates at the top and the bottom are having 1 1/2″ thickness to think about.

Once measured, in framing basement walls you will have to lay the bottom and top plates in a side by side on the floor. Be sure to mark them at the same time before placing the studs on the respective space needed. The needed distance is commonly 16″ for the placement of each stud.

Once the studs have been placed accordingly, next thing to do in framing basement walls is to secure the studs using coated nails in 3 1/2″ size each. Be sure to secure all of the studs in place first and check it out later. If you are sure that all of the studs have been secured, raise the finished frame to be placed on its place on the desired position. Be sure to get the bottom plate in place and secure it followed by the top plate at the end of the steps in framing basement walls.
